Governor of the Bank of England: The world’s reliance on the US dollar “won’t hold”

Mark Carney, the Governor of the Bank of England argued at the annual gathering of central bankers in Jackson Hole that a global electronic currency should be created to dampen the domineering influence of the US dollar on global trade. This currency would be a network of central bank digital currencies.
